How the new-snow score is calculated
It adds up the snow of the last 7 days (yesterday counts for more than a week ago), today's and the forecast for the coming days (4 to 7 days ahead counts for less, because it may not arrive). It becomes a score from 0 to 100: about 10 cm gives 20 points, 30 cm gives 49 and 80 cm gives 83. It subtracts if it has rained in recent days or if it is now warmer than 4 °C, because new snow gets wet or transforms.
